Major Casualty spoilers for next week’s episode follow.
It’s double the drama in the ED next week, as Casualty will be airing not once but twice.
The BBC medical drama will be broadcasting back-to-back episodes – the first at 8.45pm and the second at 9.25pm – as Stevie’s sinister revenge story comes to a head and Rash finds himself in terrible danger.
There’s also a familiar face back in the ED, while Jacob is forced to face up to his situation with Tina.
Here are the biggest moments coming up:
1. Stevie pursues her revenge plan
Stevie is still intent on finding dirt on Ethan in order to get vengeance for her sister’s condition. Unaware that he’s planning to be honest with her over his Huntington’s anyway, Stevie casts a beady eye over everything that Ethan does – questioning every dosage and every decision.
2. Ethan supports Stevie
When a racist police officer, Joe, injures an innocent man called Sol, Stevie and Ethan rush to save his life.
Working together to get to the bottom of what’s happened Ethan and Stevie do their own investigating and make an alarming discovery. Sol then begins to show symptoms of a head injury, which has been missed by Stevie, and ends up dying.
As a devastated Stevie locks herself in the Staff Room, she is supported by Ethan – who pockets a message from Paul from Emma’s care home in the process.
The pair bond over the pressures of the job, and Stevie is shocked by the kindness Ethan shows her.
3. Stevie gets devastating news
Ethan corners Stevie at the end of their shift, determined to be open and honest with her about his Huntington’s diagnosis.
However, Paul interrupts them with a message that Ethan forgot to deliver earlier regarding Stevie’s sister Emma.
Panicked, Stevie drops everything and rushes to the care home, but is devastated to find that Emma has died.
4. Jacob struggles as he returns to work
Jacob is keen to put the past behind him and reestablish himself as a competent leader in the wake of Tina’s exit.
He returns to work, determined to get on with things as normal. However, when Jacob notices people making allowances for him, he grows increasingly frustrated.
David tries to explain that they just want to support him, but Jacob assures him it was just a bad breakup, nothing more or less, and that he just wants to move on.
5. Paul is back
Paul returns to the ED next week, desperate to make amends for the catfishing incident.
When Robyn makes it clear that she wants nothing to do with him, Paul vows to change her mind.
6. Robyn makes a difficult decision
Determined to win Robyn round, Paul goes out of his way to impress her and even apologises to Charlie.
However, just as she’s on the verge of forgiving him, Paul pushes it too far. Paul begs Robyn to give him another chance but she’s apprehensive – admitting that she doesn’t bring anyone into Charlotte’s life lightly. Will Paul be forced to back down?
7. Jacob faces up to the truth
Jacob’s friends worry about his denial, until one of his patients, Luke, prompts him to see the bigger picture.
When Luke suddenly turns violent, Jacob freezes in terror, reminded of his past with Tina, and Robyn and Paul get injured as a result of his slow action.
Realising he needs to face up to what’s happened, Jacob takes the team aside at the end of the day and explains the abuse that he suffered at the hands of Tina, before making a big announcement.
8. Stevie struggles to cope
Reeling from her sister’s death, Stevie is furious when Ethan admits that he forgot to pass on the message from the care home.
When Stevie’s temper begins to hinder her work, Dylan is forced to intervene.
Stevie ends up treating a frequent flyer and psychosis patient called Luke and talk eventually turns to Emma. Stevie pours her heart out to Luke, who listens intently to her lamenting the lack of goodbye between her and her sister, and how Ethan contributed to her losing Emma not once, but twice.
9. Ethan faces unknowing danger
An oblivious Ethan will find himself in terrible danger in the second of next week’s two-parter, when Stevie’s revenge reaches a head.
When Luke becomes enraged on Stevie’s behalf, he offers up a pair of scissors and encourages her to hurt Ethan.
Thankfully, this grounds Stevie, who instead promises to focus on getting Luke a mental health assessment.
However, unaware of their conversation, Ethan discharges Luke behind Stevie’s back. Livid, Stevie reminds Ethan that Luke was a suicide risk, and they head to the roof…
10. Rash finds himself in a terrifying situation
Rash is still convinced that he’s doing the moral thing by helping out Hafsa’s gang and even allows a couple of gang members, Chauncey and Isaac, into his flat to patch them up.
However, this comes back to bite him when they arrive in the ED the next day, claiming that Rash’s stitching job caused complications. Desperate to keep his involvement secret, Rash begs the pair not to mention anything, and attempts to talk Isaac out of gang life and into education.
Unfortunately, Chauncey sees an opportunity, and blackmails Rash into stealing a large batch of painkillers from the pharmacy. Terrified, Rash does what he’s told but his devastated to later find that his father has been beaten up by the gang members.
11. Ethan learns the truth
Ethan is floored by Stevie’s extreme reaction to the Luke situation, until she admits the truth. Ethan is horrified as Stevie explains all about the note, how she’s been tracking his work, and that she’s desperate to find out how he’s managed to keep his job.
Reeling, Ethan is full of guilt, but does admit that not being able to save everyone, and sometimes making mistakes, is all part of the job.
Biting the bullet, he explains about his Huntington’s, leading Stevie to throw the scissors to the ground in frustration. With the truth out, the pair agree to call a tentative truce, but are interrupted when Luke launches himself at Ethan, and stabs him. Will Ethan be okay?
12. Rash finally stands up to the gang
Distraught that his actions are now impacting his family, Rash takes a stand. Ignoring Chauncey’s threats, Rash stands his ground and refuses to hand over the drugs, despite knowing this could bring more danger to his door.
As the disgruntled boys leave, Rash dials 999, determined to end this charade for good. But is he placing himself in more danger?
13. Dylan sets up a new recycling initiative
It’s climate change week and Dylan goes about implementing new environmentally friendly initiatives.
Robyn goes out of her way to help label the new recycling bins, but will Dylan rise to the challenge?
Casualty airs these scenes on Saturday, November 6 at 8.45pm and 9.25pm on BBC One.
