How the Manchester United dressing room reacted to win over Tottenham Hotspur – Manchester Evening News

Manchester United bounced back from last weekend’s 5-0 hammering at the hands of Liverpool with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening.

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani – who proved his weight in gold after earning just his second Premier League start of the season – and Marcus Rashford sealed a much-needed victory for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Solskjaer, who was under enormous pressure to lead his side to a positive result, saw his tactical switch pay off, with his decision to switch to a three-at-the-back system working wonders, both offensively and defensively.

Admittedly, Tottenham were far from being at their best and didn’t threaten David de Gea with any shots on the United goal, but the three points were welcome for Solskjaer.

After securing a much-needed victory after what has been a difficult week for the club, United’s players were, of course, elated to have secured a return to winning ways after four league games without a win.

Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at how United’s players have reacted on social media after securing such an important win.

As you can see from the messages displayed above from United’s stars, it was a win that they richly craved and needed.

Although they were up against a poor Spurs side, United had to show plenty of character and belief to bounce back from the defeat to Liverpool and they did just that, setting them up perfectly ahead of what is a huge week, with fixtures against Atalanta and Manchester City to come.
