Strictly result sees Judi Love sent home as viewers claim shes victim of a cruel new curse – Chronicle Live

Strictly Come Dancing fans claimed that Judi Love became the victim of a cruel new curse as she was voted off the show on Sunday night.

And that curse is, the curse of having a week off due to illness or injury, after rugby player Ugo Monye was voted off last weekend after being in missing in action a week earlier due to a niggling back problem.

Loose Women star Judi returned to the Strictly ballroom alongside pro partner Graziano Di Prima on Saturday night, after being forced to sit out last week’s live show, due to being struck down by coronavirus.

Appearing on Friday’s It Takes Two, Judi admitted she’d had a “rough time” of things thanks to Covid, but looked to be having a ball on the dancefloor as she and Graziano performed a zombie-fied cha cha cha to Olivia Newton John classic Physical.

The couple received a score of 25 out of 40 from the judges, putting them second from bottom on the leaderboard, just two points ahead of Sara and Aljaz.

And it wasn’t enough to keep them out of the dance-off, as they landed in the bottom two alongside Adam Peaty and Katya Jones.

They scored 29 on Saturday night and, after both couples danced again it was Adam and Katya that all of the judges decided to keep in the competition.

While agreeing it was the right result, many viewers were full of admiration for Judi after a tough time of things.

One tweeted: “Hats off to you Judi, I’ve been in bed with Covid all week and no way could have got glammed up and dancing like you just did.”

And, referencing what happened with Ugo last week, another reacted: “The public are really merciless this year. They kicked off Ugo, who was recovering from a back injury & now they’ve put Judi in the bottom two, who is recovering from Covid! It’s the Roman Coliseum!!”

While Ugo and now Judi have both been voted off on their return to Strictly after a week off, Tom Fletcher and Amy Dowden managed to escape ‘the week off curse.’

They both tested positive for Covid after the first live show but have so far not been in the dance-off.

Dismissing talk of a curse, another Twitter user posted: “just a coincidence, Ugo and Judi were the weakest performances in the weeks they got eliminated.

“Plus Tom also missed a week and was safe as his dance (jive) was good the week he came back”
