Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas has issued an update on her health scare as she revealed more tests were needed.
The head judge on the hit BBC dancing show has been seeing doctors after concerned viewers contacted Shirley on Instagram in mid-October to draw her attention to a lump they had spotted in her armpit.
But while no lump was found, doctors were concerned to find out she was suffering from abnormally high hormone levels.
High hormone levels can cause significant medical issues to female organs and Shirley now needs urgent scans on all of her organs.
Shirley, 61, told The Sun her results were “the highest she’s [doctor] seen in a female”.
The star also admitted she has been suffering insomnia and constant tiredness for months.
She told the newspaper: “She [doctor] won’t speculate on what the cause is. She just says, ‘We need to deal with this. Let’s deal with the hormones and then see what else is there’.
“So I’ll have the scans and then I’ll be able to let everyone know what’s going on.”
Shirley has become a fans’ favourite on Strictly since she replaced former head judge Len Goodman in 2017.
She has faced several previous cancer scares, including in 2018 when she revealed she had been sent for an ultrasound scan and mammogram after a breast cancer scare.
She also discovered a growth on her shoulder earlier this year which was later found to be benign.
